Animal Based Era, Our Hacks to Avoid the Bloat & Foods We’re Loving Lately

We asked the Sugar-Coated fam if you wanted to hear about our Animal-Based Era, and since you showed interest, this episode dives deep into it all. In the episode we are covering what we have been eating recently, why we were curious about animal-based eating and how we have been feeling.

First things first, we are feeling SO good from animal-based eating.

Paul Salidino is our muse right now. He is the creator of the animal-based diet and cured his eczema by switching to this diet. As I’ve mentioned once before, I have struggled with exhema myself, and have been interested in exploring this diet to overcome my own.

What even is Animal Based?

Animal based diet is eating low toxic whole foods. This mostly consists of all types of animal protein, fruits, and select veggies. Many vegetables contain natural defense chemicals, that can interfere with digestion and, over time, may contribute to autoimmune issues. Learn more about the scientific side of animal based eating here.

Here’s what we are eating that’s medium-low toxic Animal based:

A LOT of steak

Ground beef (extra lean)

Salmon

Sweet Potato

Carrots

Zucchini

Avocado

Berries

Pineapple

Mango

Banana

Apple

Sourdough Bread

Raw Honey

Full Fat Dairy

PSA: All the foods should be organic and for your meats make sure they are grass fed!

Meals we’ve been loving recently:

Breakfast: Eggs sunny side up, a couple pieces of steak, water buffalo parmesan cheese and/or avocado and raw honey

Lunch: Extra lean ground beef, sweet potato, shredded water buffalo cheese, avocado, cilantro and homemade lemon olive oil dressing and/or primal kitchen buffalo sauce

Dinner: Steak, sweet potato, cooked carrots or zucchini and raw honey

Dessert: couple pieces of fruit and a date

Why we hate Seed Oils:

This is your sign to go through your cupboard and check your ingredient labels. The next time you’re looking at the nutrition labels, keep an eye out for any type a seed oil and put it back on the shelf.  Seed oils contain high amounts of omega-six fats which leads to inflammation and chronic diseases.

Avoiding the Bloat:

Castor oil is the cure. Every night we will message castor oil onto our stomach, in the direction of your digestion system to help with bowel movements, inflammation and curing the bloat.
