Discovering Your Passion, Navigating the Unexpected and Finding Joy in Life’s Experiences
When it comes to The Jordan Sisters career journey, we have been on a rollercoaster to say the least, and it’s only the beginning. We understand everyone has a different journey than the Jordan sisters, but what we DO know is that we are not the only ones feeling stuck. Abby and I have done A LOT of reflection on the highs and lows associated with navigating our future careers. We wanted to share this reflection with our community because know there is someone out there that is dreading their Monday, anticipating their Friday.
So, let’s navigate this journey together.
The Road to Finding your passion
Discovering your passion might be more difficult than you expected, and the Jordan sisters are STILL are on a journey to discovering what theirs is. Finding what your passion might be a process of elimination, figuring out what you don’t like to get you know what you DO like!
The Jordan sisters have been doing some Reflection. If you find yourself unfulfilled with your current position, ask yourself: What do you need to be fulfilled everyday? Maybe this looks like being with a team of like-minded people, helping others or a good looking paycheque!
Can Money Buy You Happiness?
The Jordan sisters have also been reflecting on the (some people may say cliché) quote “money can’t buy happiness”. Money is essential, and we want to feel a sense of financial freedom. However, what we've discovered is that spending eight hours a day, Monday to Friday, in a job that doesn’t bring you joy just for a higher paycheck may not be worth it. The Jordan sisters want to be motivated looking forward to their Monday’s, so, money aside, we are asking ourselves what fills our cup.
Finding joy in the sticky situations
Sometimes we have to stick through the lows that we have committed to. I’d say sticking through the low points “builds character”. Or in other words, there is a lot to learn and opportunity for growth. When things get tough or uncomfortable, the Jordan sisters find ways to romanticize their life outside of work. This might look like buying yourself a coffee every morning or getting a facial at the end of the week. Our piece of advice is to do something for yourself at least once a week!
