Sleep, Recovery and Chilling the F**k Out
Call us crazy but at least we’re well rested. On today’s blog we are sharing with you the Jordan sister’s protocols for sleep, recovery and chilling the fuck out. You’ll be ready to catch some zzzz’s after reading this one.
First things first, is prioritizing sleep
Phone off 1hr before bed. After looking at our screens all day, it’s time to put the phones away, and turn them on do not disturb. The blue light of our screens is inhibiting the production of melatonin, to be able to wind your mind down and get a good night rest.
If you have a busy mind like the Jordan sisters, a Kindle will become your best friend. Download your favorite genre, turn your kindle on night mode and fall asleep in minutes.
Lowering your body temperature before bed helps promote relaxation. Taking a cold shower prior to slipping into your clean sheets is one of Abby’s favorite sleep hacks!
Dim the lights - night mode activated.
Tea, a perfect signal for the mind and body, that it’s sleepy time. Anything herbal will do the trick!
Sleep mask. who wouldn’t want to get a great sleep while looking cute? Sleep masks are essential for blocking the light out that is interrupting your beauty rest. This will allow your body to produce more melatonin which promotes better sleep patterns and pure relaxation. A beauty bonus – silk sleep masks help prevent the unwanted wrinkles.
If Erika could preach one thing - the key is CONSISTENCY. Do your best to go to bed and wake within the same 45 minutes every day, you will see a worlds difference.
Recovery
Being in tune with your what your body needs is essential to feel your most energized self. Ask yourself what your body needs and don’t hesitate to take a rest day. While it might surprise you, a rest day will fuel you for stronger days ahead!
