How To Find Balance Between Pursing Your Passion, Yourself, and Maintaining Relationships

The Jordan Sister’s key takeaways of starting your own business:

Find confidence in yourself and your ability to do something uncomfortable.

Let go of your ego!

Patience is key. “Making it” won’t come right away, it will take time. Appreciate the small successes along the way.

Passion will drive success.

Pieces of Advice from Our Dad

“You don’t have to be the smartest person in the room but surround yourself with them. The best thing you can do is learn”.  Abby and I do this by going to new spaces and meeting new people that provide some sort of opportunity for growth for Abby and I or become a better version of ourselves.

It takes time to build your brand and your reputation. During this time of growth, the person you are reflects on your business and its future. So, this is your reminder to show up as a version of you that will be reflected through your business too.

Tools we used to take the leap:

Learn from the Best. We listen to podcasters that we aspire to be, learn how to become the “best” podcaster. The information is at our fingertips, let go of worrying about the idea of “copying” because your uniqueness will naturally set you apart. This applies to any entrepreneurial venture (not just podcasting)

Abby is a networking girl to the core, don’t be afraid to reach out to people and build your network. Once you let go of your ego, you will realize you have nothing to lose, only gains.

Progress over perfection. Instead of spending hours refining every detail, focus on getting your content out there. Mastery comes with time and experience.

Our first recording took two glasses of wine, and I couldn’t bring myself to listen to it for two weeks! But taking that first step was crucial. That being said… even if you never publish your first attempts, just starting gets you closer to building the brand you envision.

Build a community through social media and IRL. Seeing your community come together in real life makes everything feel more real, fuels your motivation, and is incredibly rewarding.
