Solo Episode with Abby: Building A Morning & Nighttime Routine, Tools to Set You up for Success, and What’s in My Wellness Bag
Abby takes on a solo episode this week, without her other half (me of course). While I’m making pasta in Italy, Abby is recording her daily morning routine.
Waking up at 6:30 am the first thing Abby does is brush her teeth. Abby put me on this habit and I will ever go back. This first step to your morning is so essential, the longer you wait to brush in the morning, the more bacteria that’s entering the gut… SO if you take one thing away from this week’s blog, let it be this step.
Next, she’s putting her legs up the wall for 20 minutes to help reset her nervous system and support digestion. Along with this step, she’s turning on a SOAKK frequency as well as an open or MWH meditation. A day without a morning mediation just isn’t a day for Abby.
She’s then using her skinny confidential ice roller to de-puff and snatch. Followed by 15 minutes dry brushing, a more recent habit that she started this new year which has changed the game in feeling clean & fresh in the mornings.
Next, she’s getting herself a large glass of water to start daily hydration.
One of the best parts of the morning is taking the Cymbiotika supplements. She’s taking L-Glutathione and Super Greens on an empty stomach (and at least 30 min before food).
As Dr. Huberman preaches, sunlight first thing is essential for regulating the circadian clock. Abby is doing at least 10 minutes of walking outside to get morning movement and sunlight first thing. Some days look different than others, but for now, with the -20 weather in Canada, 10-minute intervals of walking is about all she can withstand.
Like I said, some mornings look a little different than others. For the day’s she has a busy afternoon/evening, she will do her workout first thing in the morning. Either way, she’s always ensuring she finds the daily movement she needs to feel confident and her best self.
Her nighttime routine is simple, but as I like to say, less is more (sometimes). To best wind down and shut off the brain, Abby is turning her phone off 30 minutes before bedtime. She does the essentials, washing her face, brushing her teeth, and taking magnesium before getting into bed. She sets the vibe by turning her hatch light on dim and playing white noise, reading off of her kindle until she falls asleep. Some nights she will top off the supplements with a Lemme sleep to ensure she gets the deep sleep and rest her body needs.
