Detox Your Body And Your Home: Going All Natural Without The “All Natural” Not Working & Exploring Sober Curiosity

The Jordan sisters are going all natural with our day-to-day routines. But don’t mistake these “natural” products for the typical stereotype of natural products that aren’t effective. We have tried and discovered the all-natural products that work for us, so we can share them with you.

Shampoo & Conditioner

Abby is a lover of Crown Affairs, while I’m an advocate for the brand Necessaire. Both of these brands are non-toxic and clean ingredients so take your pick! After stepping out of the shower we are using the THIC Studio hair oil. This is a hair studio in Toronto, and they have formulated their own hair oIl with simply four ingredients.

Body Wash & Lotion

Osea is a new current obsession. They are a non-toxic, and purely a natural brand. The Algae Body Wash scent is a 10/10 and trust me you will feel so fresh after using the body wash. Bonus about their brand is that their products are all in glass bottles (we are trying to limit exposure to micro plastics as much as possible).

Ok, let’s talk laundry detergents. If you’re still using Tide, now is the time to make the switch! Here are our all natural favorites:

Bare Home

Branch Basics

Find a local all natural Refillery (we have found one in Kingston that we love!)

Abby’s detergent tip: switch your scents every once in a while to avoid getting “stale”

We’ve swapped our Salt and Stone with the Nala Deodorant. While Salt and Stone has a great brand reputation for being “all-natural” they aren’t as clean as they claim to be. Nala is 100% natural, non-toxic and a local Canadian brand. Nala deodorant lasts all day (better than Salt and Stone) and has such a fresh scent.

When it comes to cleaning products, Abby and I head to local refilleries or puchase Barre Home online. We originally switched to Meyers originally thinking they were all natural. However, we recently realized they use fragrances and other harmful ingredients so don’t be fooled by their branding!

We love to detoxify our bodies, especially after we indulge with food & drinking.

Our Hot Detoxifying Tips:

After a Saturday night of drinking, head straight to the sauna and cold plunge on Sunday morning. This is the ultimate hangover cure and our favorite detox method.

We swear by the L-Glutathione liposomal supplement by Cymbiotika to support liver health and to help prevent the hangover we all dread.

Navigating the highs and lows of drinking

Abby and I are still navigating this topic. We love to have a social drink with friends & family but we also go through phases where we turn to a mocktail.

Sleep is our best friends, when drinking impacts our sleep, sometimes we question whether its worth it or not. It feels like a roller coaster going from craving a good night with a few drinks and not wanting one at all the next.

Our biggest piece of advice we have right now is to step into your intuition and NOT your ego. We come back to the question. What do I truly need in this moment? This helps us stay present and aligned with our priorities.

Find yourself a best friend like Abby and I have each other. We will always support each other whether it means having another or opting out, whatever will support us to show up as our very best selves. Don’t be that friend that judges someone for being “no fun” – fun isn’t always drinking more.
